El Departamento de Salud y Seguridad Ambiental de GRAC: Global Rights Action tiene como misión promover el bienestar integral de las comunidades más vulnerables a través de la implementación de programas de salud preventiva, seguridad ambiental y acceso a recursos básicos esenciales como el agua potable y el saneamiento ambiental.

Este departamento trabaja en la creación de estrategias que permitan mejorar la calidad de vida de las poblaciones en riesgo, asegurando que tengan acceso a condiciones sanitarias seguras, agua limpia y prácticas de higiene adecuadas. Asimismo, se encarga de la supervisión de proyectos destinados a mitigar los riesgos ambientales que puedan afectar la salud pública, abordando problemas como la contaminación del agua, la mala gestión de residuos y la falta de infraestructura sanitaria.

Funciones principales:

✔ Diseño de programas de salud comunitaria

Desarrollar iniciativas que mejoren la salud y seguridad de las comunidades vulnerables, promoviendo la prevención de enfermedades y la educación en salud pública.

✔ Supervisión de proyectos de saneamiento ambiental

Implementar y monitorear sistemas de saneamiento para garantizar acceso a instalaciones adecuadas y reducir la propagación de enfermedades.

✔ Acceso a agua potable

Gestionar proyectos que faciliten el acceso a fuentes de agua segura, promoviendo su uso responsable y sostenible en comunidades con dificultades de abastecimiento.

✔ Fomento de prácticas de salud preventiva Desarrollar campañas de educación sanitaria para concientizar sobre la importancia de la higiene, la vacunación, la nutrición y otros hábitos saludables.

✔ Gestión de riesgos ambientales

Identificar y reducir factores ambientales que representen un peligro para la salud pública, tales como la contaminación, la deforestación y la exposición a sustancias tóxicas.

✔ Colaboración con entidades especializadas

Trabajar en conjunto con organismos de salud, gobiernos locales y ONGs internacionales para fortalecer la capacidad de respuesta ante emergencias sanitarias y crisis ambientales.
